The organizer of Trollhattan Open is Robert Soderberg
(

contact me, Martin Danerud (
[email protected]).
The Swedish Shogi Championship tournament 2008 was used as a
preliminary for Swedish qualification to the International Shogi
Festival in Tendo. In Trollhattan, in parallel with Trollhattan Open,
there will be a final knock-out for the Swedish dan and kyu position.
To watch that will be an extra bonus for participant in Trollhattan
Open.
The dan players are Emil Hermansson, Christer Hartman, Peter Kaneko,
and Martin Danerud. Emil and Christer cannot be paired against each
other in the Saturday semi finals.
The kyu players are Nils Carlsson, Robert Soderberg, Daniel
Wredenberg, and Jonas Ahlqvist.
Nils and Robert cannot be paired against each other in the Saturday
semi finals.
The Saturday semi finals will be played in best-of-three games with 30
minutes + 30 seconds byo-yomi. The winners will play the dan and kyu
finals on Sunday in best-of-three games with 30 minutes + 30 seconds
byo-yomi. The four losers of the semi finals will be admitted to
continue to play in Trollhattan Open with the amount of points that
they have gathered in their semifinals (zero points after two rounds or
1 point after three rounds).
Welcome to an exciting shogi weekend in Sweden!
Martin Danerud,
